ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is a therapy approach rooted in the principles of behaviorism. It recognizes that behavior is influenced by the environment and can be changed through learning. ABA therapy focuses on identifying and understanding the factors that influence behavior to promote positive and meaningful change.
To determine eligibility for ABA services, a comprehensive evaluation or assessment is typically conducted. This evaluation helps assess the child’s specific needs and areas of concern. It is important to note that ABA By Design does not provide diagnostic services for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, our team of professionals, including licensed psychologists and board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs), will evaluate the child’s behavior, communication skills, social interactions, and other relevant factors to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs.
We provide services to children between the ages of 2 years – 18 years. Beginning ABA therapy at a young age can significantly benefit the child’s development and outcomes. However, ABA therapy can also be beneficial for older children and adolescents in addressing specific behavioral challenges and promoting skill acquisition.
On the administrative side, you can expect to reach out to our intake coordinators, who will guide you through the onboarding process. They will ensure that you have a valid diagnosis and help you with a benefit check. Our team will also collect information about your availability and therapy goals to personalize the treatment plan for your child. If you have any questions related to our services, our intake coordinators will be there to assist you throughout the process.
When you choose ABA therapy for your child, you can expect a highly individualized and evidence-based approach to address their specific needs. A team of qualified professionals, including BCBAs and behavior technicians, will work closely with your child to develop and implement a personalized treatment plan. This plan will include targeted goals, behavior modification techniques, and data collection to track progress.
We see children as young as two years–but if your child is older, that’s okay! It’s not too late to start. Children of all ages can benefit from ABA therapy–and the sooner they begin treatment, the better their outcomes are likely to be.
